Heidelberg Engineering receives FDA clearance for new Spectralis OCTA module
Heidelberg Engineering announced that its Spectralis OCTA module with SHIFT technology has received FDA clearance, according to a press release. The new module features a 125 kHz OCTA acquisition speed, which reduces imaging time by 50% compared to previous versions.
The SHIFT technology, available exclusively on third-generation Spectralis devices, combines a more powerful OCT engine, updated graphics processing, and software optimizations. This enhancement improves speed, maintains data integrity, and boosts overall performance.
The 125 kHz preset allows for detailed visualization of capillary networks and minimizes artifacts, while the 85 kHz preset supports structural OCT imaging. These updates aim to streamline workflow and enhance clinical efficiency for eye care professionals.
The Spectralis OCTA module with SHIFT technology is now available to eye care practitioners in the U.S.
